Professional Background

In his role as senior auditor, Barry is responsible for conducting information technology audits for the university, including Michigan Medicine. Barry has been with the university for over 30 years. He started his career working in academic affairs and later joined the M-Pathways Project as the assistant project manager. Following the M-Pathways Project he joined Michigan Administrative Services as director of finance and planning for the newly formed organization. In 2009, he was part of the transition team that formed what today is called Information and Technology Services (ITS). He served as the ITS director of finance and facilities and supported a wide range of NextGen projects and new services. In addition to his work in information technology, he has a broad range of experiences in university financial management, risk-based internal controls, strategic planning, and organizational change.
